Renault Laguna Coupe European Prices

The 2009 Renault Laguna Coupe will go on sale in France on October 24, 2008 at a price tag between €31,900 to €47,300, depending on specifications. Official debut will be made at the Paris Auto Show.

Renault Laguna Coupe comes with a choice of four equipment levels and a powertrain range that features eight engines, including two V6 powerplants.

The entry level Coupe version (Coupé 2.0 T 170 – 1,998cc €31,900.00) can be recognized by its 17-inch Talisman aluminium alloy wheels and standard bi-Xenon headlamps. The cabin comes with dark charcoal cloth upholstery and aluminium-effect inlay.

The Dynamique equipment level (Dynamique 2.0 dCi 150 – 1,995cc €35,000.00) features 17-inch Tenerife aluminium alloy wheels. The cabin comes with an aluminium ambience, including real aluminium dashboard and door panel trimming, plus aluminium-painted centre console.

Fans of a sportier yet reassuring ride will appreciate the GT equipment level (GT 2.0 T 205 – 1,998cc €37,850.00). This version has a sportier feel and features the media-acclaimed 4Control chassis with four-wheel steering already seen on the saloon and estate versions of Renault Laguna. The exterior comes with 18-inch Celsium alloy wheels, while the interior delivers GT appointments.

The Initiale equipment level (Initiale 3.0 V6 dCi 235 automatic with particulate filter – 2,993cc (1) €47,300.00) stands out through its upper-range specification which delivers outstanding travelling comfort. Exterior features include directional bi-Xenon headlamps and a front parking proximity sensor. Premium features inside including the Bose® Sound System audio, Carminat DVD Bluetooth® navigation, leather upholstery and heating seats.

Welcome new 2010 Nissan Pixo

Gracing the Nissan stand at the Paris Motor Show alongside the futurisitic NuVu and the revised Note mini-minivan is a new city car, the five-door Pixo, built in collaboration with Suzuki.

Competing in the hot A-class category (hot in all markets but North America), the four-passenger Pixo measures a tiny 11.7 feet long (just a few inches shorter than a Mini Cooper), 57.9 inches tall, and 63 inches wide.

Nissan has offered few details about the powertrains, other than to say it has a 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine “full four-speed automatic transmission”—as opposed to a partial four-speed automatic? The Pixo “continues the theme of compact urban motoring with outstanding green credentials,” as a companion to the electric Nuvu.

Nissan Pixo is scheduled for sale in Europe in the spring of 2009 and in the U.S., well, never.

Audi RS6 Sedan for Paris Motor Show

So the 507-hp Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG and the 500-hp BMW M5 aren’t cutting it for you but you don’t want to even look at the Audi RS6 Avant because it really kills the coolness-factor. Who really wants to be seen as father of three driving around in a high-performance station wagon?

Worry not because the Audi RS6 Sedan is on the way and will arrive in October making its world premiere at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. Power comes from the same V10 twin-turbo FSI direct-injection engine producing 580-hp.

Of course, the rear-end will sport slightly different styled tail-lamps but other than that the sedan is pretty much the same. We’re sure MTM will offer 702-hp upgrades for the Audi RS6 Sedan as well.

Audi R8 V10

Them's fightin words, but when we're talking about a V10-powered version of the Audi R8, you'd better be taking them seriously. According to an Audi insider as reported by Auto Motor und Sport in Sweden, the more powerful R8 will set a new lap record for a production car at the Nurburgring. That would mean coming in under the 7:26 lap time claimed by the Corvette ZR1 (and taken by the Pagani Zonda F), and faster than the Nissan GT-R's 7:29, but the big question remains whether it could out-gun the GT-R V-Spec's purported 7:25.

The R8 V10 – with whatever name it will adopt – is expected to make its production-guise debut at the Paris Motor Show this coming October. That'll make for some delicious eye-candy, but the real treat will be to see how the German supercar holds up against the Americans and the Japanese on the 'Ring.

Audi Q7 Remade in Diesel Monster

The race for power motors continues, and, not surprisingly, the German automobile manufacturer in the discipline set the tone. The last in the competition to the most powerful diesel car entered the serial company Audi, which is going to make crazy 500 - a strong option turbodizelny SUV Q7. 2009 Volkswagen Scirocco Preview

When VW first lifted the covers off the Iroc concept at last year’s Paris Motor Show our first thoughts was here is a car that would look stunning just the way it was. Unfortunately VW’s new CEO Martin Winterkorn didn’t agree and he subsequently sent designers back to the drawing boards to revise the final styling, which also had the unwanted effect of pushing the new Scirocco’s release date into the second half of next year.

As this latest rendering suggests, the new car loses the aggressive front end styling of the concept and instead sports a divided grille with a single bar at the top and larger intakes beneath. The overall proportions remain much the same but the production version loses the sculpted flanks and picks up shaper lines around the glasshouse.

Production will start at VW’s Portugal plant early next year alongside its cousin, the Eos convertible. Since both cars share the same basic underpinnings it’s thought VW may add a drop-top version of the Scirocco complete with a folding metal roof.

The engine lineup will kick off with VW’s brilliant 1.4L twin-charger and top out with the Golf R32’s torquey 3.2L V6 engine. Both FWD and AWD models will be on offer, including a new GTI version with VW’s latest 2.0L turbo engine and FSI technology. This new engine, which will also be appearing in the Mark VI Golf GTI, will develop around 230hp and will be available with the six-speed DSG gearbox.
